About
MICH has been making music for a decade, though it took some convincing before the band decided the milestone was worth celebrating. Their sound centres on a striking contrast: sharp, concise lyrics about the weight and absurdity of existence, wrapped in cheerful, upbeat melodies and delivered in ultra compact songs. That tension between heavy themes and light music is a defining quality. The band features the interplay between Bastiaan Bosma and Sofie Winterson alongside guitar work by Piet Parra. To mark their tenth anniversary, they recorded a live best of album with the full band playing simultaneously in the studio, something they had never done before. Understated by nature, MICH tends to let the songs do the talking.
