Milow, the stage name of Belgian singer songwriter Jonathan Vandenbroeck, broke through in Belgium with the single "You Don't Know" in 2007, which spent 110 weeks on the Belgian album charts and earned him three Music Industry Awards that year. His real leap into Europe came when he flipped 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland's "Ayo Technology" into an intimate acoustic version that hit number one in the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Belgium, eventually selling over half a million copies across mainland Europe and Canada. His pop rock sound keeps things honest and personal, built around his voice and guitar rather than studio gloss. The album Milow went platinum in Germany and Switzerland and gold in France, the Netherlands and Belgium. He has since kept up a steady run of releases, including collaborations like the duet "Out of My Hands" with Norwegian artist Marit Larsen, and the 2011 album North and South. By 2012 he had collected twelve Music Industry Awards in total, a record that speaks for itself.
