About

Also known as: Clousseau

Few Belgian bands have left as deep a mark on Dutch language pop as Clouseau, the Flemish group built around brothers Koen and Kris Wauters. Their 1990 single 'Daar gaat ze' hit number one in both Belgium and the Netherlands, and 'Passie' repeated that feat in 1995. Despite a detour into English language material in the early 1990s, including an album recorded in Los Angeles and tour support for Roxette, Dutch speaking audiences always pulled them back to their native tongue. Over the decades they have become a genuine institution in Belgium. Their annual Christmas run at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp has drawn enormous crowds, with 2005 alone pulling over 200,000 visitors across 13 shows. In 2023 they pulled off a memorable stunt at the Pukkelpop festival, disguising themselves as a Finnish duo called Tarkastaja before dramatically revealing themselves mid set. That same year they performed 125 times at the Sportpaleis during one back catalogue celebration event, each night in front of around 15,000 people.
