Matt Simons built his reputation in Europe the hard way, one soap opera theme at a time. The Palo Alto born, Brooklyn based singer songwriter first cracked the Dutch market when his song "With You" was used in the long running soap Goede tijden, slechte tijden, hitting No. 8 on both the Dutch Top 40 and the Single Top 100. His real commercial breakthrough came with "Catch & Release", which only truly took off after Dutch house duo Deepend remixed it in 2015. That remix went to No. 1 in Spain, Belgium, Germany and France, and picked up platinum certifications across much of Europe. Simons plays piano and saxophone live, and writes most of his own material. His debut album Pieces arrived in 2012 and his follow up Catch & Release in 2014. More recently he has collaborated with Dutch and Belgian artists, including a joint track with Tabitha released in 2022.
