Singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer Dotan Harpenau built one of the most enduring Dutch album success stories of the 2010s with his self produced record 7 Layers, released in 2014. The single "Home" hit number one in both the Netherlands and Belgium, racked up Triple Platinum status in the Netherlands, and the album itself sits in the top ten of the best albums in the country of all time according to listener rankings. He also toured the US twice with Ben Folds in 2015 and 2016, and eventually sold out the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in 2018. Born in Jerusalem and raised in Amsterdam, Dotan writes music that leans into lush, emotionally direct songwriting. His 2016 single "Shadow Wind" was selected as the anthem for the Olympic Games that year and topped the Dutch airplay chart. After a public controversy in 2018 involving fake social media accounts, he came back with the EP Numb in 2020 and has kept releasing music since, including the singles "No Words", "There Will Be A Way" and "Mercy".
