Novelists, also known as Novelists FR, are a Paris based metalcore band whose sound fuses progressive metal and djent into something genuinely distinctive. Founded in 2013 by brothers Amael and Florestan Durand, they built a catalogue across labels like Arising Empire and SharpTone Records before taking things into their own hands. Their early albums, Souvenirs and Noir, laid the groundwork, while the 2020 release C'est La Vie drew praise from Kerrang! for its emotion soaked riffing. After a couple of vocalist changes, they brought in Camille Contreras in 2023 and quickly got back to work. The EP Okapi arrived in 2024, and in 2025 they released their fifth studio album CODA through ACKOR Music, a label they co founded with fellow French metalcore act LANDMVRKS. Singles like "All for Nothing" and "Say My Name" gave a clear sense of where the band is headed, and they show no signs of slowing down.
