About
Only the Poets are a four piece from Reading who've been quietly building something real since their 2017 debut single "Ceasefire". Sonically, they draw on British rock heavyweights like Blur, Oasis, and The Cure, and have picked up comparisons to The 1975, Sam Fender, and Bruce Springsteen along the way. Their 2021 debut EP Speak Out used music as a platform for mental health awareness, and they made a point of keeping ticket prices accessible for lower income fans on their headline runs. The band earned a serious step up in 2022 when they supported Louis Tomlinson across the UK and Europe, a slot they had locked in two years prior. They followed that with their own tours, festival appearances including Reading Festival and Lollapalooza Paris, and support slots for Lewis Capaldi and Bastille. In 2023 they signed with Virgin EMI Records, releasing "Even Hell" as their first single on the label, a track Longhurst called "our love letter to music". They have kept a steady stream of new material coming ever since.
