About
Prostitute channel something genuinely unsettling: a noise rock band from Dearborn, Michigan whose performances have been described as a theatricalization of terrorism, and they mean that seriously. Vocalist Moe Kazra draws on personal experiences with anti Arab racism, and the band pulls political influence from the War on Terror and Western destabilization of the Middle East, while also weaving in Arab music traditions alongside nods to Black Midi, Swans and Death Grips. Their debut album Attempted Martyr landed in October 2024 to strong reviews, earning a 7.8 from Pitchfork, which called it remarkably polished. The album circles a character who believes he is God but is actually just feeding his own ego and gluttony. In late 2025 they signed to Mute Records, who planned a reissue of the debut on CD and vinyl, and the band dropped the single Mr. Dada to mark the occasion.
