About
Samara Cyn started writing music as a way to process her own emotions, and that raw honesty never really left her work. She raps and sings, blending hip hop and R&B in a way that feels fluid rather than forced, and her debut EP 'The Drive Home' offered an intimate look at her search for self identity. The follow up EP 'Detour', a seven track project, pushes further into that territory, showing off more range and stretching the boundaries between the two genres she calls home. Early on she picked up support from a remarkably varied crowd of established artists, including Tyler the Creator, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Doechii, Nas, Doja Cat, Rapsody, Alicia Keys, Isaiah Rashad and Teddy Swims, which says a lot about how broadly her music connects.
