Sjors van der Panne has been a working artist for over twenty years, but the moment that put him on the map was a cover of Frank Boeijen's classic 'Zeg me dat het niet zo is', which he performed on The Voice of Holland, where he finished second. That breakthrough set the tone for a career built around chanson, the Dutch and French songwriting tradition, delivered with a voice and an intensity that people tend to describe as deeply affecting. Since then he has completed multiple successful solo theatre tours, performed sixteen times at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and recorded duets with Duncan Laurence, Monique Klemann and Edsilia Rombley. He has also spent more than ninety performances inhabiting the repertoire of Jacques Brel. His range stretches from Ramses Shaffy and Liesbeth List to Françoise Hardy and ZAZ, and he writes original material too, including Altijd Dichtbij, composed for the Kristal award winning documentary Anak Indië.
