About
Sofia Camara built her early following by busking in Toronto subway stations and posting covers online, going viral for her takes on Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber tracks. That grassroots momentum led to a deal with Universal Music Canada, and her 2022 single "Never Be Yours" broke into the Billboard Canada CHR/Top 40. She kept the momentum going with "Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)", which landed on Spotify's Viral 50 in Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, and Norway. Her debut EP, Was I(t) Worth It?, arrived in early 2025, with Camara co writing every track alongside producers Lowell, Nathan Ferraro, and Mike Wise. The single "Girls Like You" reached number 9 on the Billboard Canadian CHR/Top 40 and was named one of 25 songs that defined the 2025 charts by Billboard Canada. Her second EP, Hard to Love, followed later that year, and a collaboration with Dean Lewis on "With You" appeared on the deluxe edition of his album The Epilogue. She earned a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2026 ceremony.
