About
Sumo Cyco hit the ground running back in 2011, opening their very first show for Hollywood Undead in front of a thousand people. The Hamilton, Ontario band blends punk and metal with a hard rock edge, fronted by the ferocious Skye Sweetnam alongside guitarist Matt Drake, bassist Oscar Anesetti, and drummer Joey Muha. They picked up Best Female Fronted Band at the Toronto Independent Music Awards in 2012, which gave an early hint of where things were headed. Three studio albums in, their catalogue runs from the debut Lost in Cyco City through Opus Mar, which features Skindred's Benji Webbe on the track Move Mountains, and on to Initiation in 2021. Along the way they've shared stages at Download Festival and toured extensively across North America, New Zealand and beyond. Their fourth album Neon Void arrived in 2025, keeping the momentum firmly going.
