Tennis

About

Tennis built their sound around the kind of breezy, sun warmed dream pop that makes you want to be somewhere on the water, which tracks given that husband and wife Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley literally wrote their debut album Cape Dory about an eight month sailing trip along the Eastern Atlantic Seaboard. That lo fi warmth carried through their early records, but by the time they were self producing on their own Mutually Detrimental label, the Denver duo had sharpened their craft into something more polished and confident. Young and Old, produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, landed them spots on Letterman, Leno and Conan. Ritual in Repeat earned them glowing words from NPR, Yours Conditionally debuted at number three on Billboard's Alternative Albums chart, and Swimmer made several best of 2020 lists including USA Today's. They even contributed a song to Rick and Morty. Their sixth album Pollen came out in 2023, and in 2025 they announced an indefinite hiatus and released their final studio album, Face Down in the Garden.
