The Royal Dutch Scam is a ten piece Dutch band dedicated to reproducing the studio level precision of Steely Dan in a live setting, something most acts wouldn't dare attempt. Led by vocalist Lo van Gorp and built from a lineup of seasoned session musicians, the group takes on the dense, immaculate arrangements that made Steely Dan's catalogue so distinctive. Their show, Do It Again: the Best of Steely Dan, works through the songbook of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, covering classics like Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Do It Again, Reelin' in the Years and Hey Nineteen. Beyond the music, the evening digs into the stories behind the songs: the dark humour, the literary references, the mythology that surrounds the band. Expect sharp playing and plenty of bizarre anecdotes along the way.
