French producer Guillaume Atlan has been releasing music under the name The Supermen Lovers since 2000, and the project takes its name from a Johnny Guitar Watson track. His 2001 single 'Starlight', featuring vocalist Mani Hoffman, hit number 2 in both France and the UK and earned him a nomination at the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best French Artist. The sound blends house, funk and disco influences, and Atlan has never been shy about pulling in collaborators from unexpected corners, including Rick Bailey of Delegation and Norma Jean Wright from Chic for his third album Between the Ages. Over the years he has built up an impressive catalogue across four studio albums and a string of EPs on his own labels, Lafessé Records and later Word Up Records. His most recent studio album Body Double came out in 2022, shaped in part by time he spent travelling between Paris and Kyiv. He has also kept busy on the remix side, working on tracks by New Order, Spiller and S'Express among others.
