The Tool Experience, formerly known as The Perfect Tool, is a tribute act dedicated to the music of Tool. What sets them apart from the average covers band is their obsessive attention to detail: drifting guitar textures, contrasting drums, hypnotic bass lines and striking visuals all combine into something that goes well beyond a straight imitation. Frontman Spencer Fenimore has been described by the press as "frighteningly Maynard esque", with his voice and stage presence landing somewhere between deep reverence and genuine possession. Guitarist Blake Erickson, who also plays in Brainphase alongside Spencer, adds another layer to a live show that audiences say comes unsettlingly close to the real thing.
