About
Time Bandits built their reputation on a slick blend of new wave, funk, soul and dance pop, driven by the distinctive voice of Dutch frontman Alides Hidding. Formed in the Netherlands in 1981, the band broke through fast: debut single "Live It Up" reached number six on the American dance charts, and they followed it up with a string of hits that landed in the top ten across the Netherlands, Germany, France, Australia and New Zealand. "I'm Only Shooting Love" hit number one in New Zealand and climbed to number two on the US dance charts, while the video for "Endless Road" was shot during a tour of Australia. Hidding later relocated to Los Angeles, where he wrote songs for artists including Jennifer Rush and The Nylons, collaborating with writers and producers such as Charlie Midnight and Dan Hartman. The band returned to the stage in 2006 and released the album Out of the Blue in 2012. More recently, Hidding and a road manager have been running a YouTube vlog called "Roadie&Star react", where they listen to and comment on music and videos spanning the 1980s to today.
