About

Also known as: Judith Katrijntje Oosterhuis, Traincha, Train‐Cha

Trijntje Oosterhuis built her name in the nineties as one half of Total Touch, the Dutch band she formed with her brother Tjeerd. Their debut album went five times platinum and remains the bestselling debut in Dutch pop history, while singles like "Touch Me There" became genuine summer hits. When Total Touch split in 2001, Trijntje leaned into her passion for jazz, signing to Blue Note and releasing Strange Fruit, a set of Billie Holiday and George Gershwin covers that earned her recognition well outside the Netherlands. Her Burt Bacharach collaborations cemented her international reputation. The Look of Love went platinum on the day of release, and a second volume, Who'll Speak for Love, followed in 2007 with Bacharach again at the piano. A duet with Lionel Richie ended up on his live album. She also coached on The Voice of Holland, with her contestant winning the third season, and spent several years as part of the soul supergroup Ladies of Soul alongside Candy Dulfer, Glennis Grace, Berget Lewis and Edsilia Rombley.
