About
Trio Wanderer has been one of France's most decorated piano trios since winning both the ARD International Music Competition in Munich and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in the US within just a few years of forming. The three Paris Conservatoire graduates, pianist Vincent Coq, violinist Jean Marc Phillips Varjabédian, and cellist Raphaël Pidoux, have played virtually every major concert hall on the planet, from the Wigmore Hall and the Concertgebouw to the Teatro alla Scala and the Library of Congress. Their catalogue on Harmonia Mundi runs to 16 releases and spans Beethoven's complete piano trios, Schubert, Brahms, Ravel, and Shostakovich, among many others. They have also championed new music, premiering works by Thierry Escaich and Bruno Mantovani. Multiple Victoires de la musique classique wins, a Diapason d'Or of the year, and a Midem Classical Award round out a track record that speaks for itself.
