About
Turnover started out as a pop punk band from Virginia Beach, and over the years quietly became one of the more interesting shapeshifters in American rock. Their 2015 album Peripheral Vision was the turning point, swapping the scrappy energy of their debut Magnolia for something dreamier and more textured, drawing from dream pop acts like Beach House and Wild Nothing as well as shoegaze legends Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. Critics took notice, and the band never really looked back. Each record since has pulled from a different corner of music history. Good Nature leaned into folk and classic rock, Altogether brought in soul and funk influences like Curtis Mayfield and Chic, and 2022's Myself in the Way continued that restless evolution. The core trio of Austin and Casey Getz alongside bassist Danny Dempsey has stayed intact since the beginning, with lead guitarist Nick Rayfield rounding out the current lineup after years as a touring member.
