VOF de Kunst, also known internationally as The Art Company, are a Dutch pop group from Tilburg who scored one of the most surprising crossover hits of the 1980s. Their debut single "Suzanne" went straight to number one in the Netherlands and, retitled "Susanna", climbed to number 12 in the UK, eventually selling over three million copies worldwide. Lead vocalist Nol Havens has been the face of the group since their founding in 1983. Over time, the group shifted focus toward children's music, releasing albums based on nursery rhymes and the work of beloved Dutch author Annie M.G. Schmidt. Their 1991 album Dikkertje Dap spent a full year in the Dutch Album Top 100. Since the mid 1990s they have toured extensively with theatre productions aimed at both kids and parents, collaborating with writers like Erik van Muiswinkel, Paul van Loon, and Carry Slee. With 18 albums spanning nederpop and children's repertoire, they are a genuine institution in Dutch music.
