When Yves Berendse's song "Terug in de tijd" went viral on TikTok in May 2024, it launched the Dutch singer from Zandvoort into a whole different league. The track climbed to number one on the Dutch Top 40 and held that spot for six weeks, a run that eventually earned him two nights at the Ziggo Dome. Before all that, he had been quietly building a loyal fanbase through songs like "Zin in jou" and "Lust", strong enough to sell out Amsterdam's AFAS Live in November 2023. Berendse released his debut album "Het einde van het begin" in 2018 after signing with Dino Music, having first caught attention through two self financed singles. His second album "Voor altijd" followed in May 2025, and he also reached the final of the television show The Masked Singer in the 2025 to 2026 season. He sings in Dutch, and that connection to his audience is clearly a big part of why his music lands the way it does.
