About
Formed in a bunker in Deventer, Zwarte Markt built their sound somewhere between punk and metal, with raw riffs, heavy drums, and Dutch language lyrics that scrape against everyday frustrations and the general chaos of modern life. The writing is blunt and unfiltered, swinging between dark humour and the kind of uncomfortable recognition that makes you wince and laugh at the same time. The band runs as a four piece: bassist Tovenaar, drummer Megameneer, and guitarists Prins van Persië and Caveman. Their whole approach is unapologetically loud and physical, aimed squarely at leaving audiences with sore necks and grins on their faces.
