Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Band of Horses
Band of Horses has been one of the more quietly durable acts in American indie rock, built around the singular vision of singer and guitarist Ben Bridwell, who has kept the band going through countless lineup shuffles since founding it in Seattle in 2004.
