About
Band of Horses has been one of the more quietly durable acts in American indie rock, built around the singular vision of singer and guitarist Ben Bridwell, who has kept the band going through countless lineup shuffles since founding it in Seattle in 2004. Their sound pulls together indie rock, folk and americana into something that feels vast and open, and their breakthrough single "The Funeral" found its way into so many TV shows, films and ads that it became almost inescapable for a stretch. Six studio albums in, from the raw debut Everything All the Time through to Things Are Great in 2022, the band has kept refining that wide sky sound. Cease to Begin gave them their first real foothold in the US charts, hitting number 35 on the Billboard 200, while "No One's Gonna Love You" cracked the top 25 in Denmark. Infinite Arms earned a Grammy nomination in 2011, which remains a high water mark for the band in terms of industry recognition. Bridwell is the one constant, with drummer Creighton Barrett being the longest serving bandmate alongside him through all the changes.
