Aaron Lee Tasjan is the kind of songwriter who makes Americana feel genuinely alive, blending indie folk grit with roots rock in a way that sounds like spilled whiskey and dusty memories, as one critic memorably put it. Based in Nashville after years cutting his teeth in New York, he earned a Grammy nomination in 2022 for "Diamond Studded Shoes" in the Best American Roots Song category, which says a lot about where he sits in the landscape. His back catalog is worth digging into: full lengths like Silver Tears and Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan! show off his range, and his 2024 record Stellar Evolution keeps things moving. He has collaborated with Jack White, released material on Third Man Records, and co written with rock poet BP Fallon. Pat Green even took one of his songs, "Streets of Galilee", to number 15 on the US Country Billboard Charts.
