What started as a solo outlet for Swiss singer Melissa Bonny quickly grew into one of symphonic metal's more intriguing acts. Bonny, already known as the vocalist of Rage of Light, launched Ad Infinitum in 2018 with the single "I Am the Storm", recorded with former Delain guitarist Timo Somers, and ran a crowdfunding campaign to fund a debut album. By 2019 the project had become a full band, signed to Napalm Records, and by 2020 they had dropped Chapter I: Monarchy. Three more studio albums followed in fairly quick succession: Chapter II: Legacy in 2021, Chapter III: Downfall in 2023, and Abyss in 2024. The band blends big orchestral arrangements with heavy riffing and Bonny's soaring vocals, drawing on themes of history and revolution. Their 2025 single "Regicide" signals they are keeping the momentum going.
