About
Slovak singer and dancer Adéla had one of the more dramatic entrances into pop music: she auditioned for the Hybe and Geffen reality show Dream Academy in 2023, got voted out early, called the whole experience "the worst year of my life", and then went on to build a solo career that landed her at Capitol Records. Her debut single "Homewrecked" caught the attention of Grimes on TikTok, which led to a collaboration on "MachineGirl", complete with a music video co starring Sofia Wylie and a Grimes cameo. Her sound sits firmly in pop, but her lyrics lean into sexual expression with what she describes as exaggerated, over the top takes on her own life. Beyoncé and Lady Gaga are her biggest touchstones, while her vocal approach draws from Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. Her debut EP The Provocateur arrived in August 2025, its single "SexOnTheBeat" featuring a Christina Aguilera cameo, and her debut album Prima is on the way.
