Allie X, the stage name of Canadian artist Alexandra Ashley Hughes, makes synth heavy electropop with a sharp visual sensibility to match. After cutting her teeth in Toronto's indie scene, she relocated to Los Angeles in 2013 and quickly found her footing, landing a co writing credit on Katy Perry's radar and earning a shoutout from Perry herself when her debut single "Catch" dropped in 2014. That track peaked at number 55 on the Canadian Hot 100 and set the tone for what was to come. She has since built a solid body of work, including the EPs CollXtion I and Super Sunset, and studio albums CollXtion II and Cape God. Her songwriting reach extends well beyond her own releases too: she co wrote seven tracks on Troye Sivan's Blue Neighbourhood, including the singles "Talk Me Down" and "Youth". The two have also collaborated on her own material, with "Love Me Wrong" being one notable team up.
