About
Antony Szmierek is the kind of artist who makes spoken word feel like it belongs on a dancefloor. The Manchester poet, musician and producer blends electronic and house beats with his own distinctly literary voice, an approach he calls 'Sincerity Overdrive'. His 2022 single 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Fallacy' landed him serious BBC Radio 6 Music airplay and saw him named one of the station's Artists of the Year in 2023. He has performed at Glastonbury and recorded at BBC Radio 1's Maida Vale Studios, and his debut album 'Service Station at the End of the Universe' came out in early 2025 through Mushroom Music and Virgin Music Group. The record, which nods heavily to the work of Douglas Adams, hit number one on the UK Dance Albums Chart. Recent videos for tracks like 'The Great Pyramid Of Stockport' and 'Yoga Teacher' show he is very much still in his stride.
