About
Axe Travaganza is a Dutch guitar project that puts three electric guitarists on one stage: Menno Gootjes, known from Focus, Marcel Singor, who has played with Kayak, Ayreon and Plan Nine, and Mark Bogert, whose credits include Magoria, Knight Area, Arena and Progproms. Each of them also works as a teacher at conservatoires, and all three have placed high in guitar polls at home and abroad. The idea is simple: a night of fast, flashy playing where their own solo material sits next to tributes to the players they grew up admiring, such as Gary Moore, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Tony MacAlpine, plus other 80s heroes. A full band backs them up, with drummer Koen Herfst behind the kit. He has played with Vandenberg, Epica and Armin van Buuren.
