About
Britta Maria is a singer who has spent many years bringing French chanson to Dutch theatres, working alongside pianist and singer Maurits Fondse. Their show C'est Ma Vie is built around songs about life with its joy and sorrow, love, and the city of Paris, and it comes with an accordionist, sometimes on bandoneon too. The repertoire runs from Adamo, Aznavour, Gainsbourg, Brel, Piaf, Bécaud and Gréco to Zaz and Pravi, with chansons they wrote themselves in French mixed in. Between songs they tell the stories behind the music and share anecdotes about the French singers who made it. Their own material has drawn praise from radio presenters Frits Spits and Jacques Klöters.
