About
Classic Hits in Concert is a large scale live show built around the songs that dominate the Dutch TOP 2000, performing pop, rock and soul classics with the ambition of staying as true as possible to the originals. The ensemble draws on no fewer than 24 musicians playing in shifting combinations throughout the evening, with seven vocalists trading places so that every voice fits the song at hand. Members have come from acts including Wild Romance, The Gathering, Sleeze Beez, Walter Trout, and Physical Graffiti, giving the band a serious collective pedigree. The setlist is kept secret right up to showtime, which is a deliberate part of the appeal. Any given night could move from ABBA to Led Zeppelin, Prince to Pearl Jam, Fleetwood Mac to Foo Fighters, or Aretha Franklin to Tina Turner. Evergreens sit alongside deeper cuts and unexpected choices, all connected through the shared stories behind the songs. The show builds toward a grand finale, with visuals adding another layer to what is already a packed evening.
