About
Dagmar Zuniga's debut album has one of the most unwieldy titles in recent memory, in filth your mystery is kingdom / far smile peasant in yellow music, and somehow that feels completely right for music this singular. The Brooklyn based Nicaraguan American musician self released it through Bandcamp in early 2025 after writing and recording it across New York, Norway, and Athens, Georgia over several years. She even spent eight months working on a farm in Norway while shaping the record. Contributions came from Zach Phillips of Fievel Is Glauque and her own daughter, and the album caught the ear of Phil Elverum, who she went on to open for. AD 93 reissued it in 2026. Her sound draws comparisons to Grouper, Mount Eerie, Vashti Bunyan, and Sibylle Baier, placing her firmly in the quieter, more spectral end of ambient folk.
