About
Maria BC makes the kind of music that sits somewhere between dark ambient drift and folk intimacy, and their trajectory has been quietly impressive. Their 2022 debut album Hyaline, released through Father/Daughter Records, landed on Pitchfork's list of albums to hear right now and earned Album of the Week from Stereogum. Before that, their debut EP Devil's Rain got Pitchfork's attention too, particularly the title track. After a remix companion to Hyaline in late 2022, they signed to Sacred Bones Records and released Spike Field, previewed by the tracks Amber and Watcher. Their third album, Marathon, arrived in early 2026. Outside solo work, Maria BC has also collaborated with Rachika Nayar, appearing on two tracks from Nayar's debut album and playing in her touring band.
