About
De Troubadours grew out of a Dutch NPO 2 television programme of the same name, built around songwriter and producer Christon, who has spent years working in Nashville, the heartland of American country music. Where the TV show focused on writing songs with other artists about their lives, the band took a different turn on their debut album 8 Miljard Verhalen, crafting personal, original material that blends country, americana and pop. Singles Zuidas Jimmy and Plus 1 give a good taste of where they are headed: Nederlandstalige songwriting with a sound that draws as much from the American south as it does from the Low Countries.
