Frank Turner spent his early years fronting London post hardcore band Million Dead before a Bruce Springsteen tape changed everything. Hearing Nebraska pushed him toward the acoustic, folk tinged punk sound he has built his solo career on, backed by his tight knit band The Sleeping Souls. His debut solo album Sleep Is for the Week came out in 2007, and he has kept up a relentless pace ever since, releasing ten studio albums in total. His ninth, FTHC, hit number one on the UK albums chart in 2022, confirming that his loyal following has only grown over the years. Live, Turner is something of a phenomenon, a performer who clearly thrives on stage and has built much of his reputation through constant touring. His sound sits at the crossroads of folk, punk and rock, with enough anthemic energy to fill festivals and enough intimacy to work in smaller rooms. The Sleeping Souls, featuring Ben Lloyd on guitar and mandolin, Matt Nasir on piano, Tarrant Anderson on bass and Callum Green on drums, give his songs the full band weight they deserve.
