About
Garrett T. Capps is a songwriter who treats San Antonio like a never ending source of material. His songs mix country rock, Tex Mex and psychedelia into something colourful and a bit off kilter, packed with local legends and odd stories. Song titles tell you plenty about his sense of humour: 'Breakfast Tacos w/ Satan', 'S.O.S. H.E.B.', 'Sorry Shamu', alongside nods to places and figures like 'Yanaguana' and 'Bongo Joe'. His album 'I Still Love San Antone' follows on from 'I Love San Antone' and sits alongside 'Life is Strange' in his catalogue. Across it all he keeps one foot in Texas tradition and the other in experiment, celebrating the state's culture in his own contrary way. Live, that adds up to an energetic set with plenty of atmosphere and the occasional surprise.
