About
Hannes Minnaar is a Dutch pianist who has built a reputation both as a solo performer and as a chamber musician. He picked up major competition prizes along the way, including a second place at the International Competition of Geneva in 2008 and a third at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2010, and he received the Edison Klassiek Debuutprijs in 2012 followed by the Nederlandse Muziekprijs in 2016. He has performed as a soloist with ensembles including the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. Alongside his solo career, Minnaar is a founding member of the Van Baerle Trio, together with violinist Maria Milstein and cellist Gideon den Herder. The trio earned the Kersjes van de Groenekan Prize in 2012 and stepped in to perform the prestigious Prinsengrachtconcert in 2020 when the originally scheduled performers could not travel to Amsterdam due to the pandemic.
