About
Illumishade blend symphonic and progressive metal with what they call cinematic and fantasy music, a sound built around the interplay of light and heavy, quiet and crushing. The Swiss band was founded in 2019 by Fabienne Erni and Jonas Wolf, both known from fellow Swiss act Eluveitie, with Erni on lead vocals and keyboards and Wolf on guitar. Their debut album Eclyptic: Wake of Shadows arrived in 2020 to a warm reception, introduced by singles World's End and Rise. After signing to Napalm Records in 2023, they released their second album Another Side of You in early 2024 and hit the road in North America as a support act for Korpiklaani. Recent music videos for Elegy and Hymn show the band continuing to push their dramatic, orchestral edged sound.
