Blackbriar (NL)

About

Also known as: BlackbriarMusic

Blackbriar pull you into a world of dark romanticism and gothic fairytales, built on symphonic metal foundations and fronted by Zora Cock, whose voice has drawn comparisons to both Kate Bush and Amy Lee. The Assen band have been sharpening their craft since 2012, and when their debut album The Cause of Shipwreck landed in 2021, it made an impression, with critics praising the way orchestral arrangements and gothic atmosphere sit together without one smothering the other. They signed to Nuclear Blast in 2022, a move that reflects how seriously the wider metal world has taken them. A second album, A Dark Euphony, followed in 2023, and a third, A Thousand Little Deaths, arrived in 2025, showing a band with no intention of slowing down. Along the way they have shared stages as support for Epica and played an aftershow for Halestorm and In This Moment, steadily building a reputation as a live act worth catching.
