About
Jan van Duikeren is a Dutch trumpeter, composer and arranger who moves comfortably between jazz and the broader pop and orchestral world. He has worked as a guest musician with names including Candy Dulfer, the Metropole Orkest, Paul Weller and Sheila E, and his range across these very different contexts says a lot about his versatility. His own quartet, JVD4, features bassist Aram Kersbergen and pianist Karel Boehlee among its members. He also collaborates closely with DI RECT vocalist Marcel Veenendaal: the two released the album A Love Unveiled together, a collection of jazzy reinterpretations of classics. A follow up record, built largely from original compositions, is also part of their ongoing project.
