About
Teus Nobel is a Dutch trumpet and flugelhorn player whose work spans his own projects and high profile collaborations. His most celebrated moment came with the album Saudade, recorded with Roeland Jacobs and the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, which earned him an Edison Award in 2020. Before that, he built serious road experience touring with Caro Emerald, The Kyteman Orchestra, and Frank McComb, and he has also recorded two albums alongside Belgian pianist Jef Neve. Noble leads his Liberty Group, with whom he has played the North Sea Jazz Festival and released a run of albums from Flow in 2012 through to Human First in 2023. His academic side runs just as deep: he completed a master's research project on the legacy of trumpeter Woody Shaw, and since 2020 he has been teaching at Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts.
