About
Maria Fiselier is a Dutch mezzo soprano from Amersfoort who has built a career spanning opera stages and Dutch television screens. She trained at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and has sung at the Dutch National Opera and the Komische Oper Berlin, where she was a soloist through the 2021 season. Her recorded output includes the 2014 CD To Go Into the Unknown, made with Peter Nilsson of the Dutch National Opera Academy. What makes Fiselier interesting beyond the classical world is how comfortably she crosses over. She covered Eminem's Lose Yourself on the popular Dutch TV show Beste Zangers, did her own operatic take on the hit Leef under the title Vivre alongside André Hazes, and turned heads as one of the traitors in the reality show De Verraders. She has also won six prizes at the Internationaal Vocalisten Concours in 's Hertogenbosch, so the classical credentials are very much in order.
