About
Jack White liked Mattiel enough to take her on an arena run across the US in 2018, which is a pretty good endorsement for an artist on her debut. Her sound mixes garage rock, a bit of psychedelia and some galloping honky tonk, all carried by a big, assertive voice that Rolling Stone likened to Nico. Three albums so far: Mattiel in 2017, Satis Factory in 2019 and Georgia Gothic in 2022, plus a trio of EPs along the way. Satis Factory pulled four star reviews from The Guardian, Q, Mojo and Uncut, among others. She has played Later... with Jools Holland and the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and in 2023 she cut a version of Moon River with Jeff Goldblum and his jazz band, then took it to late night TV and stages across Europe.
