About
Min Taka makes music that shifts between soft, intimate moments and full electronic blowouts, blending indie, synth pop, hyperpop and Turkish influences into something that feels genuinely her own. Her artist name is rooted in the myth of a lost paradise, which suits the dreamy, layered quality of her sound. She sings in both Turkish and English, and has built a devoted following in the Netherlands through appearances at festivals including Down The Rabbit Hole, ESNS, The Great Escape and Motel Mozaique. Her EP "I Think We Should Just Move In Together" racked up over a million streams in its first week, and the track Boston earned her the Rotterdam Music Award for hit of the year as well as a nomination for the Edison Awards. Artists like Mitski, Caroline Polachek, Cocteau Twins and Charli XCX are touchstones for her work, though the result sounds distinctly like Min Taka rather than any of them.
