About
Eefje de Visser has a knack for Dutch language pop that sits somewhere between dreamy indie and understated electronica, and she's been quietly building one of the more distinctive catalogs in the Netherlands since winning the prestigious Grote Prijs van Nederland in 2009. Her debut album De Koek arrived in 2011, and she quickly proved herself a festival circuit staple, playing Oerol, Lowlands and the Uitmarkt that same year with her live band Most Unpleasant Men. With each record she's pushed further into electronic territory while keeping her songwriting at the center. Her 2016 album Nachtlicht marked a clear sonic shift, and her fourth album Bitterzoet, released in 2020, was recognized by multiple juries as the best Dutch album of that year. She followed it with a European tour supporting Balthazar, bringing her music to audiences well beyond the Netherlands.
