About
Also known as: Roos Beef
Roosbeef is a Dutch indie pop band from Duiven, built around singer songwriter and keyboardist Roos Rebergen. Their sound is melodic pop with a raw edge, and since their debut album the lyrics have been entirely in Dutch, which suits them well. They broke through early, winning the Grote Prijs van Nederland in the singer songwriter category in 2005, the same year they swept a string of other Dutch music prizes. Their debut album, with the brilliantly long title Ze Willen Wel Je Hond Aaien Maar Niet Met Je Praten, cracked the Dutch Album Top 100 and peaked at number 16. The follow up, Omdat ik dat wil, did even better, climbing to number 6. Over the years the band has kept evolving, releasing the album Kalf in 2015 on their own label Buffel, and later Lucky in 2020. Their most recent album Zomer in Nederland arrived in 2023, with guitarist Sjoerd Bruil joining the lineup.
