About
Also known as: Maaike Ouboter & Band
Maaike Ouboter first caught the attention of Dutch audiences in 2013 through the TV programme De Beste Singer Songwriter van Nederland. Her debut single Dat Ik Je Mis shot straight to number one in the Dutch Top 40, a deeply personal song she wrote about losing her parents. That combination of raw honesty and emotional directness became her signature: songs full of love, longing and grief, but above all comfort. Her debut album En hoe het dan ook weer dag wordt followed in 2015, and she has released several albums since then, taking her music on tour across the Netherlands and Belgium, playing both clubs and theatres. Performing with her four piece band, she weaves music and storytelling together, revisiting tracks from across her catalogue and giving older songs a fresh perspective.
