MOLIY first caught serious attention when 'Sad Girlz Luv Money', her 2021 collaborative single with Amaarae featuring Kali Uchis, landed at number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 29 in the UK. The Ghanaian American singer had already put out her debut EP Wondergirl in 2020, which picked up airplay across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and The Gambia, but that Amaarae collab was the moment her name started travelling. She kept the momentum going with 'Shake It to the Max (Fly)', a 2024 track made with Jamaican born producer Silent Addy that blew up on TikTok and hit number one on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and number 13 on the overall UK singles chart. A 2025 remix of the song, which also features Shenseea and Skillibeng, crossed a billion streams, making MOLIY the first non Caribbean artist to reach that milestone with a track in that space.
